There is a concerning epidemic in our modern society
Many women are burdened heavily by stress and are not readily getting appropriate support for their resulting health struggles. The top three issues affecting women as a consequence of stress are: insomnia, weight gain and anxiety. Depression, menstrual issues, migraines, fibroids, PMS and low energy are also issues.
Low progesterone production and oestrogen dominance are a major cause of weight gain.
Stress is a major cause of progesterone deficiency for many of us. Chemically speaking, when cortisol, our stress hormone, spikes, it blocks progesterone receptors and limits the activity of progesterone. So we feel stressed out, tired, and our progesterone levels suffer.
Cortisol from stress can block insulin, this results in high blood sugar, often leading to middle weight gain.
Cortisol plays an important role in human nutrition. It regulates energy by selecting the right type and amount of substrate (carbohydrate, fat, or protein) the body needs to meet the physiological demands placed on it. When chronically elevated, cortisol can have deleterious effects on weight, immune function, and chronic disease risk.
Combining, these imbalances can have a domino affect on how significantly stress can affect the balance of women’s health.
Implementation of targeted dietary and lifestyle approaches is an extremely powerful way to reduce stress, minimise inflammation, and reduce the risk for illness and chronic disease. The many biochemical processes involving cortisol and other hormones, stress, and inflammation and their impact on health and disease risk are complex and elaborate. The therapeutic diet and lifestyle strategies, however, are not. The more we learn about the way the body responds to the demands placed on it, as well as its’ extraordinary healing power.
I am passionate about helping women find solutions to turn their health around and tackle these issues.
The signature program I offer, the ‘The 9 Week Health Transformation’ addresses all of these issues, assisting in significant weight loss within a short timeframe.
